Here i'm confronted with a 'difficult' situation whereby my camera exposure system(and your's too...) couldn't handle, and that is providing a decent EV to retain Details in both Highlights and Shadows (H & S) area.

The contrast between H & S is easily a whopping 4 stops difference and even to savage that over/under-exposed RAW file can be nightmarish.
Thanks goodness for flash... but Thank God for built-in flash! :) Here i exposed for the Highlights (forestry) and pop-up the flash with a compensation setting of ϟ+/- at +1stop.
Wait! I heard there are folks arguing they can use HDR in camera setting or Photoshop-ing... but here i urge all to study my photo for reference. Camera on tripod at 2.5" long shutter simply mean, a whole lot of details, saturation & contrast can be captured in one photo along with the flash that not only brighten-up the shadow areas but retain the 'real' color tone with 'real' contrast.
The choice is clear. The choice is your's to made... be Good with one single take or live your life 'Correcting' photos? YOUR photos.
