Has there been an occasion when learning from the past allowed you to do something more happily in the present?
It’s hard to learn from the past, because that process means that I have to look long and hard at things in my life that didn’t go right – where I failed, or was disappointed, or didn’t rise to the occasion, or felt regret, guilt, or anger. And re-living that past is no fun.

“History keeps repeating itself” because many of us don’t learn from our past mistakes. Everyone makes mistake, but learning from them is the only way to self improvement. Not learning your past mistakes or other people’s mistakes will be devastating as we want to achieve or maybe, simply wanting to live life quietly.
Making mistakes while I’m still young is preferable. Making mistakes while I’m old is unforgivable. People call the young reckless but the old foolish whenever they make a mistake. As we progress in life, mistakes should be fewer and its damage, smaller. Learn and grasp every mistake you make as a learning process.
We grow and mature better when mistakes occur while we’re are still young, for there is still room for growth and learning. As a person becomes older, they believe they are wise through the ages they had accumulated. You can’t teach an old dog new trick as mistakes that are made when old; no longer rings clear when told.
